If your dad is anything like mine he is probably the world’s most difficult to buy for person. Weeks before Father’s Day there will be a brainstorming session of all possible ideas but as soon as they are suggested I will find he doesn’t want any of my gift ideas.
So comes the week before Father’s Day and there is still no gift or even an idea of one and scouring the shops for something suitable becomes the dreaded activity. Anyone else recognise this scenario?
Well no need to panic, here at WIAW we have come up with our own ideas of what to get every kind of father this year.
For the dad who loves his tea or coffee and is a keen follower of cricket, we have this great sticky wicket mug from Georgie Parker.
This mug from Georgie’s quintessentially British collection of gifts is available in blue, grey, red and green and is made with fine bone china. A unique and bespoke mug which could make a great gift this year.
If your dad prefers his music to his sport why not to treat him to these cufflinks from House of Ismay which combine vintage sheet music with high quality silver, resulting in a product that is beautifully unique and nostalgic.
All of House of Ismay’s products are made using recycled and antique materials meaning as well as being environmentally friendly and ethical they give new products “a feeling of history and familiarity.”
What if your dad loves music but doesn’t wear cufflinks all that often? Then what about this colourful and striking illustration print by Darren Elwell which combines vibrant colours, texture and lines to celebrate the iconic gramophone.
We think this print would be a perfect piece in a study or living room as its bright colours and design simply command to be looked at. All of Darren’s work begins its life as a hand drawing but they then come alive and are brought together on the computer.
For the dad who enjoys his time spent in his garden and shed why not treat him to a personalised sign so everyone knows where to find him. Barn Studio Signs have a range of wooden signs for the men in your life, but we think this Dad’s Shed sign would make a great personal touch to any garden shed.
These vintage inspired signs are available in four colours: antique white, duck egg blue, box tree green and pale rose pink and can be personalised with different sayings such as “man cave” and “gone to the pub”.
To please the fashion conscious dad we suggest these luxury ties by printed textile designer Amy Stubbs. These 100% silk marocain ties are limited edition and exclusive to WIAW, making a luxurious and alternative gift for any man who wants to stand out.
Finally, to give your dad a smile with his gift this Father’s day we suggest this lovely card from Dippy Egg to let your dad know that he really is the best.
